Texas Restaurant Stirs Controversy With Jenner-Inspired Bathrooms

There’s no doubt some restaurants like to get cute with their signs for the men's and ladies bathroom, but one Texas restaurant may have taken things a bit too far and are getting called out for it.

Back in August Dodie's Place Cajun Bar & Grill in Allen revealed the "newest members of the Dodie's crew,” alongside pictures of their bathroom doors, which feature Caitlyn Jenner’s “Vanity Fair” cover in the ladies room, and her pre-transition self, Olympian Bruce Jenner, on the men’s room door.

Now as we said, the new doors were introduced back in August, but they’ve suddenly gone viral, thanks to a “Dallas Morning News” reporter who posted them on Twitter, sparking a whole lot hubbub. A lot of people weren’t offended by the pictures and took them as a joke. But as you can imagine, there were a lot of people who weren’t exactly laughing.

Many on Twitter called them “offensive,” "transphobic" and "insensitive," with one person adding, “It's only a joke if you consider 'transgender people exist' as a punchline.”
