Students may be facing disciplinary action at a New Jersey high school after walking out of class to protest a teacher's controversial comments. Cell phone video that's gone viral appears to show a teacher at Cliffside Park High School last Thursday telling Students that soldiers are “fighting for their right to speak American."
The teacher, who has not been identified, appeared to be agitated at the students who were quietly talking in Spanish. Students say the teacher was not in school today.
As for the students, they were warned that they’d be suspended for walking out, and while they don’t know if that’ll really happen, they did say that some teachers were taking pictures of those marching. So far, school officials haven’t commented except to say that this situation “is a personnel matter.”
