For ritzy neighborhoods, Texas, and Houston, stand out nationwide.
That’s the word from a new survey in GoBankingRates which puts West University Place as one of the top three wealthiest suburbs in the country.
“Places like University in Houston, they’re highly desirable areas, where people want to live,” explained real estate expert Pam Rosener. “They’re high ranking in desirability for people of wealth.”
The study puts five Texas suburbs in the top fifty wealthiest suburbs, West University Place, University Par, Southlake, Bellaire and Colleyville.
Rosener see those highest end housing areas as keeping the real estate world alive in a time of worrisome quiet because of high interest rates.
“People are uneasy about buying, especially younger groups of homebuyers. That market has slowed down. And even the move-up market. But the luxury market is still ticking along pretty good. They’re not impacted by interest rates and so they’re making decisions to go and get what they want.”
