7-Year-Old Girl Died Of Dehydration After Border Patrol Took Her In

U.S. Customs and Border Protection is facing new scrutiny after a newspaper reported a seven-year-old Guatemalan girl died more than eight hours after she was taken into custody.  The Washington Post reports the girl was among 163 migrants who turned themselves in to U.S. agents on December 6th in New Mexico.  Eight hours later, she started having seizures.  Emergency personnel took her temperature and found it was nearly 106 degrees.  They also learned she had not eaten or had any water for several days.  Food and water are usually provided to migrants in custody.  She died of dehydration and shock.
