Sessions: I'll Stay 'As Long as That Is Appropriate'

Attorney General Jeff Sessions said Thursday he has no plans to resign in the wake of President Trump's criticism of him, but he seemed to add a qualifier: "We love this job. We love this department, and I plan to continue to do so as long as that is appropriate," he told reporters, per Politico. He spoke after Trump told the New York Times that he never would have appointed Sessions as attorney general had he known that Sessions would recuse himself from the Russia investigation.

Asked how he could continue to serve if the president doesn't seem to have confidence in him, Sessions said, "We're serving right now" and went on to praise the Justice Department's current investigations.
